Program - Wife 1.0

Last year a friend of mine upgraded from GirlFriend 1.0 to Wife 1.0 and found that Its a memory hog, leaving very little system resources available for other applications.

He is now noticing that Wife 1.0 is also spawning Child Processes which are further consuming valuable resources.  No mention of this particular phenomenon was included in product brochure or the documentation, though other users have informed him that this is to be expected due to the nature of the application.  Not only that, Wife 1.0 installs itself such that it is always launched at system initialization where it can monitor all other system activity.

He's finding that some applications such as PokerNight 10.3, BeerBash 2.5, and PubNight 7.0 are no longer able to run in the system at all, crashing the system when selected (even though they always worked fine before). During Installation, Wife 1.0 offered no option as to the installation of undesired Plug-Ins such as Motherinlaws 55.8 and BrotherInLaw Beta Release.  Also, system performance seems to diminish with each passing day.

Some features he'd like see in the upcoming Wife 2.0 are a "Don't remind me again* button, a "Minimize button" and an Install shield feature that allows Wife 2.0 to be Installed with the option to uninstall at anytime without loss of cache and other system resources. An option to run the network driver in promiscuous mode would allow the systems hardware probe feature to be much more useful.

I myself decided to avoid the headache associated with Wife 1.0 by sticking with Girlfriend 2.0. Even here, however I found many problems. Apparently you cannot install Girlfriend 2.0 on top of Girlfriend 1.0. You must uninstall Girlfriend 1.0 first. Other users say this is a long standing bug that I should have known about. Apparently the versions of Girlfriend have conflicts over shared use of the I/0 port.  You'd think they would have fixed such a stupid bug by now.  To make matters worse, the uninstall program for Girlfriend 1.0 doesn't work very well, leaving undesirable traces of the application in the system.

Another thing - all versions of Girlfriend continually pop up little annoying messages about the advantages of upgrading to Wife 1.0.

                              BUG WARNING

Wife 1.0 has an undocumented bug.  If you to install Mistress 1.1 before uninstalling Wife 1.0, Wife 1.0 will delete MSMoney files before doing the uninstall itself.  Then Mistress 1.1 will refuse to install, claiming insufficient resources.

My Comfort Zone

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.
The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; success is there for you!

Commitment is Accountability minus Involvement

I took a course years ago called “Commitment: The Power of Your Word.” I have forgotten most every course or class I have ever taken but not this one. It is one of the few courses I still have the notebook with my notes.

What did I see and learn in the course? Commitment is the backbone, strength and driving force of achievement -- the triumph of possibility over resignation, of creation over change, of your word and deed over all the practical reasons why "it can't be done."

Commitment begins with our speaking and listening. It is our word that has the power to create a future and alter what's possible, leaving us fully in accord with our own possibilities and those of others. Commitment is the difference between involvement and accountability. It is taking responsibility before the fact rather than after the fact.

The short version is words matter and your word matters most. A quote from the course, which was filled with quotes and which I reread often, is:

Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.

All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no one could have dreamt would have come his way.

I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets:

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."

from "The Scottish Himalayan Expedition"
by W. H Murray

What does this mean? Everyone is committed to something. What you have and where you are now is what you being committed looks like. The power of commitment makes nothing happen, it only makes it possible. A Mastermind Alliance - Napoleon Hill

Analyze the record of any person who has accumulated great fortune, and many of those who have accumulated modest fortunes, and you will find that they have either consciously, or unconsciously employed the Master Mind principle. - Napoleon Hill

A mastermind alliance is built upon two or more people working together in perfect harmony in order to accomplish a definite goal. If you use the mastermind principle to its fullest there is no obstacle you cannot overcome.

A mind is not complete on its own. When you use other people’s knowledge and then organize that knowledge towards a specific goal, you can accomplish anything. No one has ever gained substantial success without using this mastermind principle. All great minds grow and prosper through contact with others.

Steps to build a Mastermind Alliance

First and foremost this requires TWO people to begin. You may add more. The mastermind occurs with a definite goal is agreed by two who are in perfect harmony. Harmony cannot be stressed enough. Both parts must be in existence. There is a third implied. The people must meet together. I believe if the first two are working contact is possible today using online conference rooms or telephone. A room filled with like minded people, aligned on a mutual goal in perfect harmony is an incredible experience.

What is your purpose and goal? Who will align with you? Can you work together harmoniously? Once the mastermind is working you will find others who can fit into the constraints. Same goals and harmony are required. Goals tend to be easy. Harmony is another thing. Anyone who cannot or will not commit to performing harmoniously should be asked to leave.

Millionaire Mind – the Three Big Differences

I am rereading Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. The last time was a review of the MMI course I did in June this last summer. My favorite course of all time bar none and I suspect the next course I take from Peak Potentials will jump to the front of the line. The three things I believe that are different about those with money is not new. It can’t hurt to recognize them again.

First and foremost the wealthy buy assets instead of debt. Any debt is aligned in the most advantageous way. A large portion of their gross income goes to buying what produces more income. Living inside of half of their net income is ‘impossible’ for everyone else. Saying it so makes it so. There are many today looking to buy hard assets. Owning property is different than renting it from the bank but stuck with all the bills.

The wealthy invest in relationships. The Law of Association is maintained. The Lone Ranger and Superman myths keep many people attempting to do it, to do everything, on their lonesome. The wealthy support people and are not afraid to share what they are doing with friends and family. The mantra of many people I introduce a home business is they are afraid or unwilling to share it with the friends and family. If you friends and family won’t support you, won’t assist you in building your dream, who will?

The wealthy invest in themselves. Education is ongoing and personal. It is more than college. Books and gatherings with like minded people account for ten percent of their income. Spending time and money on their education supports building new powerful relationships too.

It’s time you invested how to change the direction of your financial life. This Course is now tuition free.
